Portuguese sensation Joao Felix is wanted by both Manchester United and PSG, but Spanish powerhouse Atletico Madrid wants to keep hold of him, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Atletico Madrid has not been kind to Felix. Diego Simeone has lost faith in him, and the manager has frequently benched him. Despite making a difference as a substitute, the Portuguese forward hasn’t fully restored his manager’s faith.
Felix was expected to depart the club in the forthcoming transfer windows and several clubs, including Manchester United and PSG, were rumoured to be keeping an eye.
In fact, the Red Devils were ready to make a move and it was reported that they had offered €125 million for the youngster. This season, the 23-year-old attacker has appeared in 18 games for the Spanish team in all competitions, making four goals and dishing out three assists thus far. It’s time we start witnessing Felix’s potential to do much better because he is a player with the capability.
Felix’s contract with the Madrid team runs through 2026, and any team looking to sign him would certainly pay a high price. The young Portuguese player, though, has the ability to perform at the highest level.
Felix has been selected for the Portuguese World Cup team and will be looking to make an impression in Qatar. He would not only gain the confidence of his management, but it would also raise his value to the teams that are interested in signing him.
The 23-year-old is no longer a young player at this point in his career. He needs to start living up to his potential and he is capable of doing so on the grandest platform.
