Phil Neville who has coached the England woman’s team and is a former teammate of David Beckham was reportedly in talks for a manager’s position in the former’s team Inter Miami.
Phill Neville had announced that he would leave his post as head coach of the Women’s team last April but has chosen to stay until the now postponed Tokyo Olympics because his successor Sarina Wiegman will remain as head coach of Netherland till September.
Beckham is set to offer him a delightful opportunity to be the first team manager and this would be his first stint coaching a men’s team but by the looks of it, he is supercharged to have received this opportunity.
Diego Alonso is currently the man who is the head coach at Inter Miami but his future is still in flux as the management is not sure as to what will transpire.
Inter Miami finished 10th in its first season at the MLS Eastern conference but Beckham and the others who are involved have high hopes from the team and are looking to make a greater impact next season.
Phil Neville would be a great addition to the squad and shares a good rapport with his former teammate. Phil Neville isn’t completely new to the fray and has had some experience with first-team coaching.
He was part of the coaching staff for David Moyes, Nuno Espirito Santos and even Gary Neville for a brief period hence he knows his way, and the MLS and a new team can be a great way for him to form a footballing philosophy of his own.
