Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first full season at the helm turned out to be very good as United finished third in the Premier League. But after a poor transfer window and an even worse defeat against Tottenham last weekend, doubts over Solskjaer’s future have already started. Dimitar Berbatov, in his talk with Betfair, has had his say about Ole’s future and his possible replacement.
It was earlier reported that Manchester United have been in contact with Mauricio Pochettino only after the end of the transfer window. Pochettino was favourite to bag Ole’s job before the Norwegian got the job on a permanent basis after a string of good results. But now, with below-par transfer business and a poor start to the season, the questions have started to begun regarding Solskjaer’s job.
In his latest talk, Berbatov said: “Ole Gunner Solskjaer has taken some criticism recently, I can understand why the odds say he is the most likely manager to leave his post, especially if they continue down this road.”
Here he referred to the poor start to the season Manchester United have had in the Premier League, this season.
The former United striker also added that “The pressure on him will only continue to grow, and if they continue to fail to win points, the point will likely come where action is taken. I believe he is still fine for the job personally, and we will have to see.”
It is widely believed that Solskjaer will surely lose his job if he doesn’t turn things around at United, with Pochettino waiting on the wings.
