With deals for Antony and Martin Dubravka close to getting completed, Manchester United is in for a busy conclusion to this summer’s transfer window.
We expect that we will be able to witness a number of departures before the deadline day. Earlier yesterday, Fabrizio Romano had claimed that talented midfielder Hannibal Mejbri joined Championship club Birmingham.
Now, the transfer guru has reported that United and Birmingham are still in discussions regarding a different player. The two teams are in advanced talks regarding winger Tahith Chong.
In addition, it’s been suggested that Chong, who began last season on loan at Birmingham, may decide to make a permanent move there rather than take another loan move.

His previous loan spell was cut short due to a major injury, and it now appears unlikely that he will be able to make the first team under Erik ten Hag despite having played frequently in the preseason.
When Chong signed a new deal in 2020, it appeared as though United had pulled off quite the coup. However, the 22-year-old has struggled to make an impact ever since.
It will be difficult for the young starlet to stabilize his future at Old Trafford given the high-profile signings United are making in his position and the expiration of his current contract.
A move to the Championship side could be advantageous for his development. He didn’t have a good season while on loan at Club Brugge and Werder Bremen.
However, United would look forward to offloading unwanted players rather than keeping them on their wage bill.
