As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United target, Paulo Dybala has joined AS Roma. The Juventus forward has reached an agreement with the Italian outfit. He will join Jose Mourinho’s side on a three-year deal.
This would be a major blow for the Red Devils as they were trying to persuade a striker. Cristiano Ronaldo’s uncertain future is still not resolved and the player’s agent is still in talks with numerous clubs.
Bayern Munich and Chelsea have already made it clear that the Portuguese striker is not in their plans. Ronaldo himself has ruled out a move to Sporting which gives him limited options.
The 36-year-old has not joined the preseason training and is currently spending his time with his family. But, it can’t be ignored that the player is still not ready to stay at Old Trafford.
Erik Ten Hag wants to have the star forward in his line-up but may have to compromise if the player forces a move. Manchester United was initially very slow in their negotiations but has now racked up pace in the transfer market.
However, that would not be enough to convince the former Juventus striker to stay. The Red Devils have been linked with a number of strikers and Dybala was one of them.
Being a free agent he would have fit the role correctly in Ten Hag’s system. However, the Argentine has decided to join hands with Jose Mourinho.
The club has currently put its faith in Anthony Martial in the ongoing preseason games.
