Boost for United as Eintracht Frankfurt lowers Randal Kolo Muani’s asking price

According to L’Equipe, Eintracht Frankfurt have reportedly reduced their demands for striker Randal Kolo Muani, which has given Manchester United a boost in their pursuit of the player this summer.

United are eager to secure a high-profile striker during the current transfer window, but their financial options are currently limited until they can generate funds from player sales.

Despite these constraints, the club is actively exploring potential signings and has received positive news, as Frankfurt are now prepared to accept a lower initial transfer fee for Muani.

In May, Eintracht Frankfurt’s CEO, Axel Hellmann, stated that Kolo Muani would command a price exceeding €90 million. However, the player could now be acquired for €70 million with potential add-ons.

This revised valuation brings positive news for United. Unfortunately, the pursuit of Muani has reportedly been stalled due to a takeover situation.

Additionally, Paris Saint-Germain has entered the race for the striker. Muani, who joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Nantes on a free transfer last summer, enjoyed an outstanding debut season, contributing 23 goals and 17 assists.

In addition to his goal-scoring prowess, the Frenchman was impressed with his ability to hold up play and apply consistent high pressure, winning an impressive 6.8 duels per league game.

The young attacker has been highly regarded as an “assist king” by the Bundesliga’s official website, showcasing his ability to create opportunities for his teammates. Additionally, his exceptional dribbling skills have enabled him to bypass defenders effectively, averaging two successful take-ons per game.

Given his skill set, Muani is seen as an ideal striker signing for Man United. However, there are a couple of obstacles to overcome. The €70 million price tag is still considerable, especially considering United’s financial constraints due to Financial Fair Play regulations.

The club may need to sell a few players before making an approach, but this could test Eintracht Frankfurt’s patience, as they are planning to bring in Elye Wahi from Montpellier as a replacement for Muani.

Furthermore, Paris Saint-Germain’s interest adds another complication for United. If PSG makes an early move for Muani, he may prefer a return to his homeland instead of joining the Red Devils.
