According to SunSport, Everton might be open to selling their 29-year-old goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford to Manchester United.
The club has reportedly identified Crystal Palace’s Sam Johnstone as a potential replacement, given his £10 million release clause.
Although Everton values Pickford at £45 million, the approaching deadline for accounting purposes could potentially force them to accept a lower transfer fee.
This situation could be favourable for United manager Erik ten Hag, who may be seeking a goalkeeper due to David de Gea’s contract expiration on the same day.
Ten Hag is reportedly limited to a budget of around £100 million for this summer’s transfers unless he can sell some players from his squad. He remains keen on securing a £55 million deal for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
To raise funds, several players are potentially on the departure list, including Harry Maguire, Fred, and Scott McTominay. The manager’s primary target is a top striker, with Harry Kane being his preferred choice, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is unwilling to sell.
Although Ten Hag initially hoped to avoid spending a large sum on a goalkeeper, David de Gea’s refusal to accept a pay cut has disrupted those plans.
But, the financial situation at Everton presents an opportunity. The club needs to generate revenue before June 30 to include the sales in next year’s accounts.

This circumstance could persuade owner Farhad Moshiri to accept a lower fee for players, including goalkeeper Pickford. The English keeper is not the only Everton player who could be sold at a reduced value before the deadline.
Fulham manager Marco Silva is interested in reuniting with midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, whom he previously worked with at Watford.
