Brahim Diaz has an ‘anti-Manchester United’ clause in his contract

As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport, Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz reportedly has an “anti-Manchester United” clause in his contract.

The 23-year-old midfielder is thriving while on loan at AC Milan and drawing attention from fans with a streak of standout performances. Diaz spent a portion of his developing years with Manchester City before departing in 2019 due to a lack of regular playing opportunities.

But it seems as though the Man City negotiators inserted a stipulation that might prevent any future transfers to their Manchester rivals as part of his move to Real Madrid. An “anti-Man Utd clause” was reportedly added to the star’s contract.

In other words, the Citizens would get 40% of any transfer money if Real Madrid sold the star to Erik ten Hag’s team. The agreement makes it less likely that Madrid will sell to United and almost assures them of receiving less money than if they sold to any other team.

It is unknown why City added this condition, but given how well-known Diaz is becoming in European football, it may have been a wise decision. Despite things not working out at the Etihad, many people have always predicted that the 23-year-old will have a brilliant career.

Before being sent on loan to AC Milan in 2020, he played only 15 times for Real Madrid. He made 31 appearances for Milan last season, helping them win the Serie A championship.

With four goals and one assist thus far this season, Diaz has already gotten off to a strong start.
