Brandon Williams has had a stellar breakout season with Manchester United as he replaced the ailing Luke Shaw for most parts of the season. The 19-year old was great in his first season in the first-team and settled into the Premier League with ease. But it has now been reported that Williams is having a minor issue with his foot injury.
The foot injury is reportedly not very serious, but it has kept the young defender out of the England u-21 squad for the European Championship. Williams hasn’t yet featured for the u-21s in for the national side and has supposedly missed the chance to be a part of the squad. His performances for United have been good, but lately, he has faced criticism for his lack of concentration.
The young left-back was found guilty for both of the goals Sevilla scored in the semi-final of the Europa League. The goals also meant that United lost in the semi-final, even though they were favourites to win the competition. Williams has made a total of 36 appearances this season for United, which is a huge number considering it is his first season in the league.
It will be interesting to see if Williams is fit when the next season begins, as Shaw is also recovering from a long-term injury.
