Manchester United took on Brentford at the Brentford Community Stadium yesterday, with the goal of collecting as many points as possible. The Red Devils were poor in the first half, as they were unable to break down the Brentford defense, and they headed into halftime with a score of 0-0.
The Red Devils made a strong start to the second half, taking the lead in the 55th minute thanks to Anthony Elanga’s close-range strike. Mason Greenwood extended his team’s lead just seven minutes later before Marcus Rashford scored a spectacular goal to make it 3-0 to Man United.
Brentford later scored a consolation goal from Ivan Toney in the 85th minute to make it 3-1.
Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player played against Brentford:
David de Gea – 7/10
The Spanish goalkeeper produced several fine saves but will be upset after allowing a late goal. He needs more clean-sheet after putting in such incredible performances.
Diogo Dalot – 7.5/10

Aerially he was very dominant, and he made the most number of clearances(16) than any other United player. He also won the ball back a couple of times for his team, but he didn’t contribute much to the attack.

Victor Lindelof – 7/10
For the majority of the game, the Swedish star put up a decent show at the back but the Brentford attackers outpaced him a couple of times.
Raphael Varane – 7.5/10
He was at his peak in the entire 90 minutes. He was solid aerially, quick to stop counter-attacks, and calm with the ball at his feet. It was a classic Varane on show.
Alex Telles – 6/10
Telles performed decently at the left-back spot but again he failed to provide something unique in the attack.
Fred – 8/10
The Brazilian midfielder played with confidence and showed flashes of brilliance with his pinpoint crosses. He finished the game with a brilliant assist and he deserves the praise.
Scott McTominay- 8/10

McTominay put in a lot of effort on both ends of the field and made a number of clever runs. He pocketed several Brentford players with his smooth skills.
Mason Greenwood– 7.5/10
He created some problems for the Brentford defenders and scored a fantastic second-half goal. A decent performance altogether.
Bruno Fernandes – 8/10

The Portuguese magician, Bruno Fernandes was simply unstoppable, as he finished the game with a couple of assists. He played like a machine and never showed signs of getting loose or tired in the entire 90 minutes.
Anthony Elanga – 7/10
Another brilliant performance by the United youngster. Got a much-deserved goal and Rangnick will love to see his beloved youngster improving so much game after game.
Cristiano Ronaldo- 7/10
He wasn’t able to score tonight but was still able to give the crowds some moments to cheer with some quick attacking moves. His chested pass for Bruno Fernandes was heavenly.
Substitutes:
Marcus Rashford– 7/10
Struck a sweet goal and that was his first in 11 straight games. Much-needed confidence was gained by the English youngster.
Harry Maguire– 6/10
Was unable to help United keep the clean-sheet as Brentford scored a late consolation.
Nemanja Matic- N/A
Came on very late and didn’t have much impact on the game.
