Manchester United FC midfielder Bruno Fernandes bags consecutive Premier League Player of the Month awards from February and June. He becomes the first United player after Cristiano Ronaldo to bag consecutive Player of the Month awards in the league. Since his arrival in January, the attacking midfielder has taken the Premier League by storm and has helped United’s chances in the league.
Bruno Fernandes has also been awarded the Goal of the Month in the Premier League for his volleyed-goal against Brighton. It was a devastating counter-attack, in which United swamped from their box to that of Brighton’s in mere three passes. The Red Devils are on a 16-match unbeaten streak since Bruno’s arrival and he has lifted everyone in the United squad.
With Bruno’s arrival, also came goals and assists for Manchester United, as the Portuguese has scored seven goals and provided six assists. He has achieved all that in just 10 Premier League matches, and currently holds the key to the Red Devils’ attacking success. The attacking midfielder links up the midfield and the forward-line superbly well and has been phenomenal since joining United.
Since the restart, Bruno has started in all of the Red Devils’ fixtures and has scored in all but one match. In the five matches after the restart, he has scored five goals and provided three assists, and has carried the United side. His midfield partnership with Paul Pogba has been scintillating, as the duo link-up like they have played for years together.
Bruno Fernandes deservingly won the Premier League Player of the month award with eight-goal contributions. He becomes the first United player to win this award consecutively, 14 years after Ronaldo achieved the same feat. The Portuguese is in with some elite company and hopefully will produce the goods for United in the long run as well.
With only four games left in the Premier League, the league is surely going to have a blockbuster ending. The battle of the top-four heats up and so does the relegation scarp, Bruno’s form will surely help United on their quest. The Red Devils look well on their way to reach the top-four spot and Fernandes has played a crucial role in United’s chase.
