Bruno Fernandes and Hannibal Mejbri nominated for goal of the month award

As revealed by the Premier League’s official website, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes and Hannibal Mejbri have been nominated for the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award for September.

The team has faced a challenging start to the season, currently having accumulated only nine points from their first seven top-flight matches.

Despite their challenging start to the season, there have been some positive developments for United. One of these is the emergence of Mejbri.

The Academy star showcased his talent with a remarkable long-range goal against Brighton, even though the team ended up losing the match.

Manager Erik ten Hag has taken notice of the 20-year-old’s performance, leading to Mejbri starting in three recent matches for the Red Devils, including their recent Champions League loss to Galatasaray.

On the other hand, Fernandes has continued his impressive form into the new campaign, contributing to three goals in the Premier League already.

In a match against Burnley last month, the Portuguese midfielder scored a spectacular right-footed volley, courtesy of a precise long pass from Jonny Evans.

United will be looking to get back to winning ways when they face Brentford in the Saturday kickoff at Old Trafford.

In the meantime, Mejbri and Fernandes are among the contenders for the Goal of the Month award, competing against six others, including Callum Hudson-Odoi and Miguel Almiron.

Hudson-Odoi and Almiron both scored with exquisite curling shots from outside the box, but we believe that Fernandes deserves the recognition for his outstanding strike.

Given United’s huge global fanbase, there’s a strong likelihood that the captain will secure the award. Goals of this calibre are a rare sight in football.
