Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has admitted that Bruno Fernandes is benefitting from Christian Eriksen presence in the line-up.
Both the midfielders have formed a strong partnership as they have been made to play with each other consistently. The presence of Scott McTominay has further boosted their performance.
Fernandes has started to gain form after the arrival of the Danish midfielder. The 30-year-old’s quality of dictating play in the middle of the field gives the Portuguese enough freedom to look for a deadly pass.
Their compatibility gained more positive encouragement after their terrific performance against the Gunners.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag was full of praise for both the midfielders and their partnership as he said:
“Bruno Fernandes gets support [from Christian], he can also pass the final ball, receive the final ball, the togetherness they really suit together.”
“We put him a little more down on the pitch, like a six, eight role, he has a lot of freedom, he has to interchange with the spaces where he has to be and the rest have to adapt to that.”
Eriksen was involved in all thre goals against Arsenal and he was rightly awarded the man of the match award. After a poor start in the initial games of the season, the Danish star has been able to unlock the secret doors in midfield along with Fernandes.
Eriksen has played more minutes than any other new signing which shows that the manager has much faith in his playmaker. Although he may not play as a complete attacking midfielder, his dominance provides more access for the Portuguese midfielder.
