Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to go through the repercussions of his side’s defeat to Watford this afternoon. Their opponents Watford, in fact, deserved to win their match after dominating them for the entire 90 minutes.
For Solskjaer, who was already struggling for his job, it was an unpleasant awakening. It was Manchester United’s heaviest defeat to a newly promoted side in the past 32 years, and the Red Devils now have just 17 points from 12 league games.
Bruno Fernandes has rescued the Norwegian multiple times over the last two years, but his goals have dried up this season, and United’s ability to grind out results has suffered as a result.
Bruno Fernandes told to BeIN Sports:
“We did that (play like a wounded animal) but just for one half. That is not enough in these kinds of games, in the Premier League, it’s not enough playing just for one half. Watford is a good team, they are aggressive and they have quality up front. If you give them chances, you will concede goals. And that has been a problem for us in many games.”
“I think the reaction in the second half was there, in the first half it was too sloppy. From everyone, we don’t go on the front foot, we don’t tackle, we don’t win our duels. Against these teams, you have to win that. You have to try to keep the same intensity as them.”

The 27-year-old is an important element of United’s play, and after United’s defeat to Watford, in which he was virtually invisible for the majority of the 90 minutes, Fernandes attempted to explain the setback in a gloomy interview.
We’ve reached a stage where words are no longer sufficient. We’ve already heard these prepared comments so many times that it almost feels like a rehearsed performance.
Actions speak louder than words, and Fernandes and the bulk of his teammates aren’t doing enough of them. It’s time to take a stand and be heard.
At this point, social media apologies are pointless; instead, start performing on the pitch.
