Bruno Fernandes reveals his prime goal at Manchester United this season

Bruno Fernandes has claimed that his prime goal is to help Manchester United win titles and that the only way to do so is to take each game “step-by-step.”

The Reds haven’t won a trophy in five and a half seasons, but they’re the favourites to win the League Cup this year as they head into their second semi-final match against Nottingham Forest with a 3-0 lead and a potential final opponent of either Newcastle or Southampton.

On this day three years ago, Fernandes moved to Old Trafford in a high-profile move. In the 2021 season, the team reached the Europa League final, where they were defeated by Villarreal on penalties.

The club’s most recent domestic final was the FA Cup, which they lost to Chelsea 1-0. But Fernandes is keen to hold up a long-awaited trophy for United, whether it’s on home soil or on another continent.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Fernandes said:

“I still feel like my main goal is to still win trophies. I think the aim for this club has always been to win trophies and we can’t hide that. You have to think game-by-game and think that the next one is more important.”

“The aim, the global aim for the club is always winning trophies and it means a lot for the club, for the fans and the players because no player comes to Man United thinking that the main goal is not winning trophies.”

The Red Devils are fighting on all fronts this season, as they are still playing in all competitions. Although they didn’t have a great transfer window, they are still optimistic that they will finish in the top four of the league table.

However, Christian Eriksen’s latest injury has brought more headaches for Ten Hag due to his limited midfield options. The club may try to sign a new midfielder on loan to fill the void left by the Danish star.
