Still alive in the Europa League on the back of a massive win over Roma and, if all works out positively in their last couple of rounds of the period, bound to complete second in the Premier League, Manchester United have had a fair season at the end of the day.
For the entirety of the ‘Ole out’ chat, the Norwegian has done amazingly well and, if he’s given the instruments to do the work as far as transfer window goes well across the late spring, there’s no motivation behind why there can’t be further enhancements made.
One of his best buys so far has been Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder has been a disclosure at Old Trafford and the main motivation behind why trophies stay on the table at this point. He has been simply exceptional and has already chipped in 25+ goals in his debut season.
Nonetheless, Bruno has exposed an interesting conversation that has parted the changing area, and it’s one that each football fan will most likely have talked about at some point.
Bruno Fernandes while talking to the club’s official website said: “They [Fred and Telles] always talk about who is the best player in the world, in history, blah blah. We always fight because they say Pele was the best in the history of football and I’m talking and I put Cristiano in the middle, of course. For me, Cristiano and [Lionel] Messi, I always say, both make history for many years and they were capable of being at the top for many years. And, of course, the same as me, they have never seen Pele play so they can’t say he was the best because they never saw him. They say it because they’re Brazilian and, in Brazil, they say it. I think Pele is one of the best in the world because I hear people talking about him and I’ve seen some history and some videos and you watch and everyone can see Maradona, Eusebio, and people talk about Pele as being the best of all time. We always talk about Rivaldo and Figo and which one was the best. Who was the worst and who was the best So, for me as a Portuguese, I always defend my players? It doesn’t matter if I like them or not, I defend the Portuguese players every time. So this is a fight between Brazilian and Portuguese people but it is more of a joke than other stuff.”
Fortunately for the Red Devils, the discussion is not all that much, and it appears to be that the players will simply need to settle on a truce on this one.
This debate is at least better than the Super League.
