Manchester United FC were handed a lifeline when the club finally paid up to sign attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese superstar has been a revelation at Old Trafford and has changed United’s season for the good. But is it widely believed that the incoming of the attacking midfielder will have adverse effects for the Red Devils in this summer transfer window.
Bruno Fernandes has been a revelation at Old Trafford and has helped in the improvement of the squad on and off the pitch. The former Sporting Lisbon captain has brought in much-needed impetus and urgency to the United side. Since his arrival, United have only lost twice, which is a testimony to the magnitude of improvement the squad has shown.
Bringing Bruno Fernandes to Old Trafford cost the Red Devils reportedly £47m initially. The Red Devils paid huge fees for player incomings in the last summer and spent almost £186m in fees over the last 13 months. When asked if Fernandes’ signing was from this summer window’s budget, Solskjaer said “Of course it is. Of course signings and expenditure will affect your budget.”
Sighting this statement from Solskjaer, United will need to sell some of their players in order to sign the likes of Sancho.
