Paul Pogba’s quality whilst on the pitch was quite visible for everyone to see during Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Friday, according to the Red Devils talisman Bruno Fernandes.
Pogba, whose future at Old Trafford remains highly uncertain leading up to the summer of 2021, was in tremendous form for Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s side in their opening clash of the new year.
The World Cup-winning midfielder help commence the play for United’s first goal of the game, which was tucked past Emi Martinez by Pogba’s compatriot Anthony Martial, following which the Frenchman also won the spot-kick in the second half for Bruno Fernandes to covert, thereby handing Solskajer’s men all three points to go joint top in the league standings.
Speaking to reporters in the aftermath of the Old Trafford showdown, Fernandes was full of praise for his midfield partner as the Portuguese playmaker expressed hope of Pogba continuing his brilliant run of form in future games for the Red Devils.
“I think today Paul was top,” said Fernandes, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.
“The first goal he makes very good skill. We all know the qualities he has. It is not in doubt here. I hope Paul’s qualities are not in doubt. We know he can play, we know he can help us and today he was involved in both goals.”
“He will give more and more and more with the confidence coming game after game.”
