Manchester United have moved to nine points in the Champions League group stage after the win against Istanbul Basaksehir last night. The Red Devils talisman, Bruno Fernandes was at it again last night as he produced a masterclass, by scoring a brace. In his post-game interview, he talked to MUTV about why he passed the chance to score a hat-trick by giving the penalty to Marcus Rashford.
Bruno Fernandes got two goals last night and could have had a third goal of he had taken the penalty awarded to United. But instead of taking the penalty, like he generally does, he gave to Rashford who scored from the spot. It was to everyone’s shock that Bruno didn’t take the penalty as it was a golden chance to complete his hat-trick.
In his interview, Bruno Fernandes said: “Of course every player wants a hat-trick. But after the game in the Premier League I told Rashford that he could take the next one so I remembered that and also he’s one of the top scorers in the Champions League so it’s important for him to get the confidence. It doesn’t matter who takes the penalty as long as the team scores.”
These statements form Bruno Fernandes show his leadership and top-notch mentality which United have craved for a long time. Solskjaer would hope that Bruno continues his great form for Manchester United as he always seems to score or assist goals for the Red Devils. The Portuguese midfielder is an absolute treat to watch and there is no doubt to the fact that he is United’s most loved and important player.
