Bruno Fernandes has been a breath of fresh air at Manchester United as he has become the club’s talisman since joining in January. But before joining the Red Devils, he was heavily linked to Tottenham last summer and almost joined Spurs. In his latest talk with UTD Podcast, Bruno Fernandes has spoken about last summer and how close he was to joining Tottenham Hotspur.
Bruno Fernandes was awarded Sir Matt Busby player of the year last season, even though he joined the team midseason. The Portuguese talisman has had a meteoric rise at Manchester United and has taken the team to a new level. But his move to United was doubted when Tottenham were linked to him last summer and were very close to signing him.
In his recent interview, Bruno said: “Yes it’s true, I have chances to go other teams and it’s public, I was close with Tottenham but the offer was not good enough in the summer for Sporting. I felt sad at that moment because my dream was the Premier League but I put both dreams together in January – joining the premier league and play for the team I want, my dream club.”
Solskjaer should feel lucky to have Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United as the midfielder has almost single-handedly improved the Red Devils. Bruno Fernandes has turned out to become one of the best attacking-midfielders in Europe and his success at Manchester United has been a treat to watch. The Red Devils are happy to have Fernandes wearing the Red of United instead of the white of Tottenham.
