Burnley vs Manchester United: Match Report

The stunning performance of mighty Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku resulted in the triumph of Manchester United over Burnley. United watched victory because of the two goals scored by skillful Lukaku in the first half of the game and didn’t allow the adversary to count their score. The match ended at 2 – 0 in the favour of Red and White army.

Lukaku shut the critics with his high rise header and an easy second goal from his right foot. The first goal was a header from Lukaku and was assisted by Sanchez. Jesse Lingard was seen taking a healthy number of shots but all, either taking a deflection or being caught by the fans. None did the English striker shot in the goal and test Burnley’s goalkeeper Joe Hart. Lingard did seem dangerous to the opponent.

Disappointing moment was when the French striker , Paul pogba missed the penalty ,to score another goal , otherwise the score would have been three on the united side. Why not give a chance to Lukaku for a spot kick and make his hat-trick? The French captain could have been unselfish in the call and should have given the opportunity to Lukaku who was in good touch as compared to the previous games where he missed sitters in each one of them.

Another eye- fetching moment came in the 71st minute of the match where 20 year old Rashford took on the 20-year experienced Bardsley. Emotions took over the youngster and was given a red card for his offensive attitude over the elder opponent. This was surely a controversial decision to give a red and not a yellow to both, but referees ought to be firm. The youngster apologised for the incident on social media both to the fans and team.

The day was good for United considering their lower than decent form in the previous games but the team can still improve looking at the chances they had, the scoreline would have easily been 6-0.

The win, howsoever enlisted the second win of Manchester United in the season and brought certain relief to the manager.
