Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has become a famous TV anchor and pundit along with United legend Gary Neville. The duo has become iconic due to their differences and has also come to some great conclusions when it comes to predicting future for teams in the Premier League. Carragher, in his latest talk with Sky Sports, has explained why United have a better chance to finish higher in the league than Chelsea.
Chelsea have signed a lot of superstars this summer and have completely taken everyone by surprise with their summer overhaul. The Blues, with their recent signings, will expect to bridge the gap between the top two of the Premier League last season. But Carragher believes United have a better chance of finishing in the top three than Chelsea.
In his latest talk, he said: “I actually believe, even if Manchester United don’t bring in the players Chelsea have done, they’ll still be the closest challenger to the top two. Bruno Fernandes is going to be there for a full season and he made a huge difference when he came in January, he was outstanding. If he continues that this season, they could go a lot closer.”
The former centre-back also added “It’s not easy to bring in those type of players and make it all gel. We know for certain that not every transfer is going to work, not all those players that are being brought in are going to be successful.” Manchester United will hope that it goes the way Carragher feels and United have a good Premier League season.
