Cavani set to miss Newcastle game due to quarantine rules

Manchester United, in the last hours of the transfer deadline day, signed Edinson Cavani, in their search of a centre-forward. Cavani has now also got the new Manchester United No.7, which adds to the pressure of playing for one of the best clubs in the Premier League. But it has now been reported that by ESPN that Cavani is set to miss the game against Newcastle, due to quarantine rule.

Edinson Cavani’s signing has been welcomed by United, as the Red Devils need experience in their attacking department. Having played at the highest level and been one of the best strikers in Europe, Cavani’s presence will be great for Rashford, Martial and Greenwood. The timing of his arrival has collided with Martial’s three-game suspension due to a red card against Tottenham.

But, it has now been reported that Cavani will miss the fixture against Newcastle, because of quarantine rules in England. United fans were happy that with Martial’s suspension at least United have Cavani as a replacement, but it won’t be that way. With an awful defeat against Tottenham last weekend, the Red Devils need to come back strong against Newcastle to post a statement of intent.

Edinson Cavani must be gutted with the quarantine rules, with the increasing number of COVID-19 patients, it is only for the greater good.
