Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel responds to Manchester United links

Thomas Tuchel has denied rumors that he is interested in signing for Manchester United as their new manager, claiming that he is committed to Chelsea.

Chelsea’s future is uncertain after owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by their country and the European Union for his ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has spearheaded his country’s invasion of Ukraine.

Chelsea is now in the process of selling the club, however, they are unable to sell any tickets or merchandise until that time, and they are also unable to extend any of their current players’ contracts.

Thomas Tuchel has been linked with the job of succeeding interim manager Ralf Rangick at Manchester United during such difficult times but he has now dismissed the rumours during his pre-match press conference ahead of his club’s FA Cup clash with Middlesbrough.

As reported by SkySports, he said:

“Actually no reaction at all. Do you feel me less committed to the club or less involved in the club? Absolutely not. I have said many times that I love to be here and this club has everything it needs to make me happy. There is no need. We have plenty of reasons to stay at the moment.”

“I do my best and I’ve felt the support here in the club since day one. That makes me feel safe and then I do my best to play my role and push things forward.”

Thomas Tuchel has been repeatedly made to respond to queries about Chelsea’s financial situation and its impact on the team on numerous occasions.

While stating it as a difficult situation for the club, Tuchel has stated that his players are trying to work 24/7 and concentrate on circumstances within their control, such as on the field.

Manchester United is still looking for their next permanent manager, with Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag being the chief targets. However, Thomas Tuchel may be difficult to persuade to quit Chelsea.

He is considered to be quite settled and enjoying life in London with his family, in addition to his loyalty to the club and its quality players who continue to perform for him despite the difficulties.
