Chong responds to Robben comparisons

Tahith Chong is one of the world’s most highly-rated young wingers and is also highly rated in the eyes of Solskjaer. Even though the Dutch youngster signed a long-term contract with United earlier this year, he has gone on-loan to Germany yearly this summer. With his good start to a career in Germany, he had been compared to the likes of Arjen Robben.

As it was reported earlier, Tahith Chong has joined Werder Bremen on-loan for a season from Manchester United to get game-time. The young winger has had a great start to the season, as he was great in the friendlies and was amongst the goals and assists. He has even scored in his debut for the German club and has quickly drawn comparisons with Arjen Robben, for his pace and trickery.

In his latest interview with bundesliga.com he said: “I think it’s a big honour. Obviously, Arjen Robben is a big, big player. When I used to be small, I used to look up to him and liked his game.” He also added “I think I’ve mentioned before, the players that I used to look up to were Arjen Robben, Ryan Giggs and Lionel Messi. So, to have that honour is big but I have got massive, massive steps to take before I can get to that level.”

Solskjaer would love for Chong to return as a better player, as United are desperately on the hunt for  a right-winger.
