Chris Almas and Sascha Lense set to join Rangnick’s backroom staff

This week, Ralf Rangnick is expected to hire two new members of his Manchester United backroom staff.

As reported by The Athletic, Coach Chris Armas and highly regarded sports psychologist Sascha Lense are awaiting work visas in order to join Rangnick’s revamped team.

On Monday, Lense was introduced to the players at United’s Carrington training facility. Rangnick previously worked with the 46-year-old former midfielder at Schalke and Red Bull Leipzig, but he will have to wait for his visa to be cleared before he can start working with United’s team.

Armas, a 49-year-old former New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC coach, has also applied for a work visa in preparation for his reunion with Kieran McKenna and Mike Phelan.

At his press conference on Tuesday, Rangnick is anticipated to discuss the new acquisitions. United, on the other hand, is awaiting the completion of the regular visa process before confirming the positions.

Rangnick knows Armas from his time at Red Bull and has been trying to hire up to three additional coaches or analysts in the coming months, especially after Michael Carrick’s departure from United last week.

Rangnick’s interim tenure at United got off to a good start with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
