Christian Eriksen agrees three-year deal to join Manchester United

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Christian Eriksen is set to sign for Manchester United on a three-year deal.

The Danish playmaker has agreed to finally put an end to his transfer speculations by committing his future to United. The 30-year-old midfielder is now expected to join a number of new recruits this summer, albeit the signing is not yet final because paperwork must still be completed.

Eriksen’s short-term contract with Brentford expired last month, making him a free agent. Tottenham had also expressed interest in re-signing their former star, but when Antonio Conte shifted his focus to other targets, United emerged as the favourites to sign the midfielder.

This week has been a rollercoaster ride for United as they have been dealing with Ronaldo’s possible departure.

Erik Ten Hag informed the club that he wants to revamp the midfield by adding Eriksen and his top target, Frenkie de Jong. Since taking over at the club, he believes that the midfield region needs the most attention.

Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, and Jesse Lingard all left at the end of the previous season and they needed someone to fill the slot.

Christian Eriksen can play as a No. 10 or in a deeper midfield position, giving him additional choices on the pitch. He is known to create top chances and hold possession. His pairing with Bruno Fernandes would be interesting to watch.

The former Tottenham midfielder will be unveiled as a United player this week along with Tyrell Malacia.
