In a friendly game against Wrexham that was played behind closed doors, Christian Eriksen scored on his debut for Manchester United. Lisandro Martinez, another recent addition, had played a part in the Red Devils’ 4-1 victory.
Earlier today, Martinez was formally introduced as the new player of Manchester United. As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Christian Eriksen scored United’s goal at halftime to level the score at 1-1 before the team scored three more goals to win the tie.
Both center-backs, Martinez and Raphael Varane played a role in the friendly match. The France defender had a difficult preseason due to injuries, therefore Erik ten Hag will certainly benefit from his comeback.
Eriksen, who joined United earlier this month on a free transfer after leaving Brentford, was the club’s second signing of the summer. Following an agreement with Ajax for a move of up to £57 million, Martinez was the third player to come through the Old Trafford door.
Although his arrival has already been officially confirmed by United, the transfer was not 100% complete until Wednesday. The Argentine centre-back was delighted to sign a new contract with Red Devils.
The next official friendly for United will take place on Saturday in Oslo against Atletico Madrid. The following day, they will then face Rayo Vallecano at home.
