Could Anthony Elanga fix his spot in the starting XI under a new manager

To start, we all know that Manchester United has had a disappointing season. Despite a busy summer transfer window, the club has been unable to compete in the Premier League or the Champions League.

United’s upcoming season will be shaped by the next few weeks, as they aim to finish in the top four and appoint a new manager. There hasn’t been much to get fans excited about this season. However, Anthony Elanga, though, has emerged as a quality player in a squad of underperformers.

Manchester United has a strong track record of developing and promoting players into the first team. The continuation of this production line is more crucial now than ever before. Anthony Elanga’s progress indicates that the academy has been so successful in providing young quality players from time to time.

It’s been a huge feat for the young Swede to break into the first team, ahead of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, showing how highly regarded he is at the club.

He has appeared in 12 Premier League games this season. Across all competitions, this figure rises to 18. The majority of these were as substitutes, although he started eight games as well.

In total, Elanga has three goals in all competitions. In the Champions League, he had his best performance, most notably during the matches versus Atletico. Even after many players failed to step a foot right in the game, Elanga scored goals and made it difficult for the opposition to counter his movements.

The young winger possesses the mental qualities necessary to excel at the top level. Ralf Rangnick is a well-known coach with a keen eye for talent. The fact that the German interim head coach has picked Elanga as a player capable of participating in major games at the age of 19 speaks volumes.

His goal-scoring talent is his best trait, although he is still improving. Per 90 minutes, Anthony Elanga averages approx. 0.36 non-penalty goals.

The young Swede has a high work rate and is well suited to a pressing game in addition to his goal-scoring skills. One of the main reasons he has succeeded under Rangnick is because of this. He is having 22.37 pressures and 2.16 tackles per ninety minutes.

Elanga will perform regularly if he can keep up his work rate and goal threat. He’ll need more playing time to mature as a Premier League player. Although the majority of his appearances were as a substitute, he will be requiring a bigger role to play next season.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood’s futures, there is a chance for him to become a regular for Manchester United in the upcoming season.

Although, the next manager’s signing will be crucial. Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino are two managers who favour a pressing style of play. Furthermore, they are both known for their commitment to the development of young players.

Anthony Elanga’s future appears to be bright, and we believe he will get the chance to amaze the Old Trafford crowd in every game.
