Could Telles play in a new position at Manchester United?

Alex Telles brings a lot of attacking threat with him and ever since he has arrived at the club one has seen a massive improvement in the form of Luke Shaw.

It would certainly be difficult to remove him from the left-back spot until and unless he has some fitness or injury issue but that would only mean diminished playing time for Alex Telles. The competition for the sport has brought out the best in both players but there is also a great attack threat whenever Alex Telles takes the field and his 26 goals and 57 assists back at his time in Portugal is an example of what he can do further up the field.

Richard Fay at Manchester United Evening News also believes that if Luke Shaw can maintain his consistency and fitness then we could certainly see Telles making his way to the front.

The attacking fullbacks of the modern games are more adept at attacking than ever before and it would not surprise us to see him out in front. On his FA Cup debut against Watford, he created the most chances by any player that day.

Having your full-backs giving you momentum in the attack is an added advantage and most people would concur that it is even needed these days. Alex Telles has some pretty impressive stats when it comes to dribbling and crosses when in an advanced position. While Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford have a passing accuracy of 12.5% and 25% respectively, Alex Telles has completed one in every three crosses that he has put into the box.
