Cristiano Ronaldo could recieve Chelsea life-line due to Graham Potter’s arrival

As reported by the Mirror, Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo could be handed a major lifeline next summer due to the arrival of new Chelsea boss Graham Potter.

It has been no secret that the Blues wanted to sign the legendary goalscorer with Todd Boely highly interested in his services. However, he couldn’t meet at common grounds with Thomas Tuchel as the German manager didn’t want to sign the Portuguese.

Due to these issues, a move for the 37-year-old failed to occur and he stayed put at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag has been reluctant to start the former Real Madrid striker in every game due to Marcus Rashford’s sudden spike in his form.

He did score a goal against Sheriff last night but he has started only one Premier League game this season. Ronaldo had a wonderful campaign last year as he scored 24 goals but he has been unable to fix his spot under Ten Hag.

With Chelsea sacking Thomas Tuchel, the arrival of Graham Potter could change the entire situation for Ronaldo. The veteran forward was looking for a move to a Champions League club and he could get his move this time as Todd Boehly can make an approach in January.

Jorge Mendes had held a meeting with the new Blues owner and it remains to be seen whether both parties can agree to a deal next summer. Currently, Chelsea has signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but this decision was made by Tuchel.

With the German manager being sacked, there could be a shift in plans next summer.
