Cristiano Ronaldo had turned down Saudi Arabia move claims Piers Morgan

According to Piers Morgan, a club in Saudi Arabia was considering offering United star Cristiano Ronaldo a record-breaking salary of £130 million every season.

Ronaldo was United’s top scorer last season, and the club’s failure to advance to the Champions League had a significant negative impact on his career. The Portuguese player had never previously played in the Europa League.

He has lived in the Champions League area for years, therefore he struggled to accept this situation. His agent, Jorge Mendes made the player available to several teams this summer, and his desire to leave the club significantly increased.

The Portuguese striker was prepared to lower his salary to force a transfer, but clubs were hesitant to take him on since he is no longer the type of player who can single-handedly alter the outcome of a match.

However, as per Piers Morgan, Ronaldo was given a chance to join a Saudi-based club on a multi-million deal. But the striker rejected the offer. As stated by The Sun, he said:

“@Cristiano received an offer of 130m euros to play for one season in Saudi but turned it down.

This season, he has struggled to handle United’s high intensity and has grown dissatisfied with his little playing time. When Erik ten Hag learned about Ronaldo’s appalling behaviour during the Tottenham Hotspur match, he left him out of the squad for the Chelsea encounter.

Before the final whistle, the former Real Madrid defender was seen exiting via the tunnel and also declined to join the team as a substitute. The manager made the decision to deal with the issue severely, and Ronaldo was told to train alone apart from the first team group. In the January transfer window, the 37-year-old will look for choices, but leaving Europe is not one of them. He still believes he has what it takes and the self-assurance to compete at the greatest level, and he will probably sign with a Champions League team.

Due to owner Tedd Boehly’s desire to make Ronaldo his first high-profile acquisition, Chelsea has been linked with a move for the player. However, it will be difficult for the club to sell him to a direct Premier League rival.
