As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Cristiano Ronaldo has now resumed practising with Manchester United’s first-team squad today, after being banished by Erik ten Hag last week.
After refusing to make an appearance in last Wednesday’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham at Old Trafford, Ronaldo was benched for United’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea and had to practise separately from the rest of the team.
However, following frank discussions with the manager, the Portuguese star started working out with the first-team squad and is a candidate to start Thursday’s Europa League match at Old Trafford against Sheriff Tiraspol.

According to United sources, Ten Hag and Ronaldo have been in frequent communication since it was decided to snub the striker for the Chelsea game and bar him from practising for three days.
In order to demonstrate that such behaviour cannot be permitted, Ten Hag made it evident that he would be strict with Ronaldo’s unprofessional behaviour and chose to punish United’s most famous player.
Although the striker frequently makes headlines, his early departure couldn’t overshadow the fact that Erik ten Hag and his players are taking yet another positive step on the right path.
Ronaldo complained that he was given little to do when Manchester United defeated Tottenham, but his complaints are unjustified given how well the Red Devils played.
From beginning to end, United outplayed a weak Spurs team, proving their adaptation to Ten Hag’s strategies and putting up a masterful display at Old Trafford.
The 37-year-old was benched against Liverpool, Arsenal, and now Spurs, all of which United won comfortably. It is obvious that the club is already adjusting to life without him and his behaviour has made it worse for him.
