Cristiano Ronaldo has responded angrily to suggestions that he is determined about wanting to quit Manchester United in a social media post.
The Portuguese international shocked the Red Devils at the beginning of the summer when he declared his desire to sign for a team that will participate in the Champions League in the upcoming campaign. Then, for personal reasons, he chose not to accompany his teammates on United’s preseason tour to Thailand and Australia.
Ronaldo and Jorge Mendes returned to United’s Carrington training facility on Tuesday for crucial discussions with Erik ten Hag. Although it’s unknown if the 37-year-old had found an answer to his future. It has been known that Sir Alex Ferguson had a chat with the striker regarding the issue.
According to Ronaldo’s contract, United wants to keep him on for another season and has ruled out selling him to a rival club.
Ronaldo apparently hasn’t changed his mind and is determined to find a new club, although he recently made it clear that he isn’t as eager to leave Manchester United as it has been speculated.
The Portugal international responded to a fan’s Instagram post which had stated false claims about the star striker. It was the first time he has ever publicly addressed the rumors about him. As reported by the Metro, he said:
“Impossible not to talk about me one day. Otherwise, the press makes no money. You know that if you don’t lie you can’t get people’s attention. Keep going that one day you got some news right.”
Even though Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid have ruled themselves out of the running, United has yet to receive a bid for Ronaldo. With no signs of an exit, it seems that the striker would be available for next season.
As of now, Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he would play for United in the friendly match against Rayo Vallecano. Erik Ten Hag has put his faith in Anthony Martial in the absence of the legendary striker, and the Frenchmen has made good use of the chances handed to him.
He has scored there goals in the preseason and has impressed the fans with his progress. It remains to be seen whether Ronaldo continues at United or prefers to switch clubs in the coming weeks.
