Manchester United last game of the season is against the dangerous Crystal Palace side which can hurt the Red Devils in a numerous ways. Last time out, United got hold of all the three points against them in a tight Old Trafford fixture in the month of December when Fred scored the only goal of the game in the late 78th minute.
United has dropped a lot of points this year ranging from hefty defeats against Brighton, Liverpool, Manchester City and Watford. Defence fell apart leaving De Gea helpless in front of the goal. Since the top four spot is no more available as Spurs and Arsenal are the only competitors, the only spot that United can fight is for the 6th position and stay in the Europa League next season. A defeat against the Eagles might take away this very spot from the Red Devils’ hands and hand it over to West Ham who are just two points behind.
Wilfried Zaha(13 goals)and Gallagher(8 goals) are two hot prospects of the fixture. Keeping them in check might ease the tempo of the game from United’s point of view. However, Harry Maguire and Rafael Varane are expected to be as the two CB’s along with Diego Dalot and Alex Telles covering the right back and the left back roles respectively. United’s attacking force are more or less going to be the same that we have have witnessed almost throughout the season featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Sancho and Elanga. Pogba is out with an injury making Matic retain his spot for the last time in that United jersey. However, Juan Mata also seems to get some more game time as it will also be his last game in that United jersey. An End of an Era surely!
Match Prediction –
Cristiano Ronaldo is inevitable. His contribution to this weak United side is massive. Even if United hampers in this fixture, he is still expected to be on the score sheet. Jadon Sancho might be another player for the Reds who might just create a massive impact for the United side and nonetheless create problems for the Palace defenders. On the other hand, Wilfried Zaha is a top-notch player who seems to be very composed while playing against a top side. United’s defence has let the whole team down throughout the season and this might give him the perfect opportunity to snatch some crucial points for the home side. Gallagher as mentioned above needs to be kept in check as well.
