Dan James completes his deadline day transfer to Leeds United

Manchester United’s first-team camp witnessed a major outgoing in the final hours of this summer’s transfer window with Dan James signing for domestic rivals Leeds United, confirmed the club through a statement on their official website.

James had emerged as the Elland Road outfit’s top target just in time for Tuesday’s deadline day with Leeds looking to bolster their attacking options by bringing in a fresh face.

The signing of Cristiano Ronaldo by United had led to speculation that Ole Gunnar Solskajer will be looking to ship out one forward player from his ranks before the transfer window slam shut with Jesse Lingard’s future also subject to much talk.

Lingard, however, is staying put at the club beyond this summer despite West Ham United being credited with a strong interest in signing the England international who spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan with The Hammers.

The 23-year-old Wales international James moves to Leeds United on a long-term deal with The Whites believed to have forked out a £25 million fee to land the signature of their longstanding target in the market.
