David De Gea Set To Reject Contract Extension

According to the latest reports, Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea is set to reject a contract extension by the club and leave for free next summer transfer window.

Manchester United have not had a great start to the new season as they have managed only five points in four games ahead of the international break and Ole Gunner Solskjaer needs to start racking up the points in order to keep his job as well as keeping United close to a top-four berth. The Norwegian spent big on reinforcements in the summer transfer window but hasn’t really gotten the desired results so far.

If United fail to compete for a top-four spot or not win any cup competitions it will be extremely difficult for the 20 time League champions to keep hold of their world-class players at the Theatre Of Dreams. Along with French midfielder Paul Pogba, another player that is on the exit door at Old Trafford linked with other clubs in Europe is Spanish star goalkeeper David De Gea.

It is claimed that United have offered De Gea a new contract worth £350,000 a week which will make him the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world. The 28-year-old is in his final year with United and has been stalling putting pen to paper which will make him a free agent at the end of the season.

United have offered De Gea the deal but if he continues to stall on signing the contract extension the Red Devils might consider selling him in the January transfer window to earn some money off his sale. There are also reports that De Gea wants to join Serie A side Juventus on a free transfer deal in the next summer transfer window.
