Manchester United might be struggling to have competition over places at other spots in the pitch, the situation is different in the goalkeeping department. Dean Henderson signed a long-term contract with the Red Devils earlier this summer, cementing his place in the United squad. It has now been reported by Manchester Evening News that with the arrival of Dean Henderson in the squad, David De Gea has stepped up his training.
De Gea has had a couple of seasons to forget at United as he has made way too many mistakes. It was also reported earlier that Solskjaer had given this season’s time to get his game right to keep his place as the No.1 at United. The Spaniard has started the season well and hasn’t committed any mistakes yet.
It has been reported that De Gea has intensified his training at Carrington after Henderson’s long-term extension. Henderson, himself is ready to take the No.1 spot from De Gea and has expressed his wish publicly. With the healthy competition, Manchester United will only benefit as they have two world-class goalkeepers in their squad.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would hope that De Gea keeps his form throughout the season, and doesn’t make errors like he did last season.
