Dean Henderson signed a long-term contract this summer, as he extended his stay at Old Trafford till 2025. His arrival meant that Sergio Romero was no more the second-choice goalkeeper at United, and hasn’t played a game this season. It is now being reported by ESPN that Dean Henderson might leave the club in January on-loan and thus the board is reluctant to make a decision on Romero’s future.
It was earlier reported that Sergio Romero wanted to move away from Old Trafford after being treated unfairly by the club. On the other hand, Dean Henderson signed a long-term contract at Old Trafford but has failed to get a lot of game-time for the Red Devils. David De Gea has returned back to his very best which has given Henderson more time on the bench than on the pitch.
It has been reported that Henderson could leave Manchester United in January on-loan in search of constant game-time. Henderson has been fantastic for United whenever he has played but needs to play regularly to make the England No.1 spot his own. The decision of Henderson’s future hangs in tandem with that of Romero, as the club will not allow both the goalkeepers to leave at the same time.
It will be interesting to see what happens with both the goalkeepers in January as it is sure that one of them will leave Old Trafford in January.
