As reported by the club’s official website, Dean Henderson will miss Manchester United’s training camp in Scotland due to prolonged fatigue.
The club has released an official statement: “Dean Henderson will miss Manchester United’s Scotland training camp while he continues his recovery from prolonged fatigue after contracting a COVID-19 infection three weeks ago. He is expected to be training again soon.”
It is disappointing news for Henderson and Manchester United. The recent few months have been really tough for Dean Henderson. He was tested positive for coronavirus and then made his long recovery to step into the England team for the Euros. But his joy was shortlived as he was unable to play because of a hip injury that had troubled him for the whole year.
He was replaced by Aaran Ramsdale and hence couldn’t play for England any further in the Euros. It was reported that he may make an early return and the player himself was very optimistic about his chances of returning early.
But now due to the after-effects of Covid, he is still facing a lot of fatigue and needs time to recover. It has been confirmed that he will miss United’s recent training camp and will continue his recovery from the fatigue.
There is not much clarification about his return back to training, but we hope that he can make it on time. His chances of playing in the first game of the new PL season against Leeds, looks very slim.
Nevertheless, he is expected to be Solksjaer’s first-choice goalkeeper this season and his return is crucial for Manchester United.
