Dean Henderson has finally returned to Old Trafford today, after ending his one-year loan deal with Sheffield United. Henderson, for the past two years, has played at Bramall Lane, first in the Championship and then in the Premier League last season. The Englishman has taken to twitter to thank the Sheffield fans and management for his development and growth as a player.

Dean Henderson has returned to Manchester from Sheffield and was spotted at Carrington today, which is United’s training ground. The goalkeeper has been rumoured to be close to signing a contract extension with the Red Devils. The contract will reportedly mean that Henderson will become one of the highest-paid goalkeepers in the world, and will probably stay at Old Trafford next season.
The emergence and confidence of Henderson will also mean that Romero will be pushed out of United. Romero has earlier been linked with a move out of United for this very reason and United will surely not keep three top-class goalkeepers. Keeping both De Gea and Henderson will be tricky though, as both the players want assured game-time on the pitch.
Dean Henderson is surely the long-term replacement for David De Gea but it is yet to be seen how the youngster plays for a big club.
