Manchester United FC are already busy in the summer transfer window and still have a thing or two to decide.
The Red Devils were reportedly interested in loaning out some of their youngsters in a bid to give them regular football. United want their youngsters to get exposure in a big stage and are thus planning to loan James Garner out this season.
James Garner has excelled in the Premier League 2 and has even played for the first-team this season. The Englishman has made four appearances in the Europa League and one in the EFL Cup as well. Garner has impressed in all his performances and is ready for the step up to a bigger stage than the Premier League 2.
The 19-year old has played 10 games in the Premier League 2 in which he has scored eight goals. These numbers are great especially when you link it with a central midfielder or a defensive midfielder. Garner has a great right foot and can spray the ball around, somewhat as Paul Scholes did in his later years at Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will decide this week on which of his young stars he is willing to loan out next season. The club board and Solskjaer are assessing options for Garner and want a club where he gets enough game-time. United are looking for options in the Championship that have coaches with the same mentality that Solsjkaer has regarding Garner.
There are many smaller clubs in the Premier League as well as the Championship that are interested to have Garner on-loan. The sides which are likely to take Garner are Sheffield Wednesday, Doncaster Rovers, Swansea and Cardiff City. Either of the latter two clubs is more likely to have Garner, because of their style of play and size of the clubs.
Although it is yet to be decided if Garner will be sent on loan or not, it is believed he will be. With more game-time, Garner might turn out to be one of the best academy products of the United academy. Garner is a talked-about prospect from the academy and surely has the qualities to make it to the very top.
