Derby County 0-3 Manchester United : 3 Significant Lessons We Learnt From United’s Win

Manchester United was 0-3 winners over host Derby County as the FA Cup continued on Thursday night. It promised to be an interesting match to behold as the visitor traveled to the Pride Park to face Derby County.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his side will be delighted with the win as they advanced to the quarter final of the Oldest Cup competition.

This sees them continue the journey alongside Chelsea and Arsenal in the next round. With United’s 0-3 win we evaluate the three significant lessons we learnt from the match.

IGHALO NETS BRACE

The Nigerian striker utilized his changes as he was handed a starting place in the mighty Manchester United side. The forward maximized the opportunity as he netted a brace while endearing himself to the heart of his manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ighalo’s brace was key as it helped sealed the match for Manchester United. His goals ensured the Red Devil’s passage to the next round as Derby surrendered to the visitor at home.

DERBY NOT UNITED’S CLASS

The home side was duly beaten black and Blues despite their home advantage during the count of the contest.

However, it was Manchester united that seized initiatives they scored thrice in the 90 minutes affair.

The Red Devils got two goals in the first half thanks to Luke Shaw and Odion Ighalo’s strike in the 33rd and 41st minutes.

The latter completed his brace as the Red Devils proved they are too good for Derby County. They’ve shown class as Mata, Baily Eric and Anthony Martial featured for the United side.

MANCHESTER UNITED PROGRESS

The home side produced a credible performance away from home as a place in the quarter final was at stake prior to the game.

This left Derby competing with the Red Devils for a place in the next stage of the FA Cup. Three goals scored for Manchester United and conceding none was good enough as the Old Trafford side marched into the next stages at the expense at the host.

This leaves the Red Devils with the positive stance as they defeated Derby County 0-3 to reach the last 8 (quarter-finals) this season.
