Diogo Dalot drawing attention from Everton

Diogo Dalot was one of the most promising full-backs in the world when Manchester United signed him for Porto in 2018. Jose Mourinho signed the full-back in a bid to find Manchester United’s next Gary Neville, but it is fair to say Dalot hasn’t performed. It is now being reported that United are considering to sell Dalot to generate funds for recruits.

The Portuguese full-back hasn’t lived up to his full potential or what was expected of him at Old Trafford. He was so good that even Barcelona were fighting for his signature back then, but Dalot chose the Red Devils instead. Diogo Dalot enjoyed game-time under Jose Mourinho, but current manager Solskjaer doesn’t find Dalot to be good enough for United’s liking.

This season, Dalot has played only 11 games for the Red Devils and has been lately struggling with injury. Carlo Ancelotti seems interested in signing the player at Everton and might do it this summer transfer window. The Red Devils might be able to fork out about €20m for Dalot which will help them raise funds for new signings.

With Wan Bisakka, Brandon Williams and Fosu-Mensah, the Red Devils will happily sell Dalot and use the funds generated elsewhere.
