According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has signed a new long-term contract with the club, extending until June 2028.
The Portugal international has played a crucial role under manager Erik Ten Hag this season, being a regular starter at right-back prior to the World Cup break.
Although Aaron Wan-Bissaka has also featured in the position since the restart, it was widely expected that Dalot would commit his future to the club.
Romano has revealed the 24-year-old’s contract extension, with an official announcement likely to follow soon. The new deal may include an option to extend for an additional 12 months.

Throughout the campaign, Dalot has been one of United’s standout performers, even though he has experienced periods of being in and out of the starting lineup in recent months. Nonetheless, he remains an integral part of the manager’s plans for the team.
Dalot’s contract renewal is expected to bring an end to the transfer speculation surrounding United’s right-back options.
Manager Erik ten Hag recently praised Aaron Wan-Bissaka for his significant improvement in the second half of the season, indicating that the club is unlikely to sell him in the upcoming transfer window.
It is probable that Ten Hag will continue with Wan-Bissaka as the first-choice right-back for the next season before making any decisions regarding potential changes.
Meanwhile, Dalot’s new contract is well-deserved, considering his previous low salary of £25,000 per week. It is believed that he may have significantly increased his wages by quadrupling his earnings after signing a new five-year deal.
