Manchester United want-away midfielder Donny van de Beek is set to explore his transfer options before departing the club this summer. The Dutch star joined the Red Devils in 2020 with high expectations following his successful stint at Ajax.
The 26-year-old has endured a disappointing spell at Old Trafford and is now seeking regular playing time for the upcoming season.
Van de Beek has been sidelined since sustaining a knee injury during a match against Bournemouth in January. According to Fabrizio Romano, he will actively search for new opportunities to revive his career elsewhere.

Van de Beek’s tenure at United has been underwhelming, with the midfielder making just 60 appearances over three years. In the 2022/23 season, he featured in ten games, six of which were as a substitute.
Questions were raised about his role in the squad when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed him, considering the presence of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, and Nemanja Matic.
Van de Beek has struggled with both form and fitness, and his loan spell at Everton did not yield significant success.

The arrival of Erik ten Hag, his former coach at Ajax, was expected to be a turning point for his career, but he has failed to revive it at United.
With players like Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Fernandes ahead of him in the pecking order, it is unlikely that Van de Beek will find regular playing time at United.
The club has been linked with Chelsea’s Mason Mount, and if that transfer were to happen, it would further reduce Van de Beek’s chances of getting on the field. Consequently, it appears necessary for him to seek opportunities elsewhere to revive his career.
