Manchester United have been handed a massive setback over their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund superstar Jadon Sancho in the summer as the Bundesliga side remain unwilling to part with their prized asset for anything under £100m.
Sancho remains one of the most sought after players in Europe following the Englishman’s stunning displays for Dortmund over the past few seasons. Sancho’s meteoric rise has seen the 20-year-old linked with a return to the Premier League as Chelsea Manchester United and Liverpool interested in signing the young attacker.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United appear to be winning the race to sign Sancho from the Westfalenstadion this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed that he intends on bolstering his squad in the summer and is interested in signing the Dortmund superstar to ensure his plans remain on track. The Norwegian has criticized for allowing key goalscorers in the form of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez leave the club in the summer and not replace the duo.
For now, the coronavirus crisis has had a major impact on the transfer market with the player’s value depreciating at a rapid rate.
However, Dortmund are reportedly unwilling to part with Sancho for a transfer fee of anything under £100m in the summer. Reports also claim that Sancho is interested in a return to the Premier League in the summer. Despite struggling with a few injuries, Sancho had scored 14 goals and notched up 16 assists as well in 21 starts for the Black and Yellows. If Manchester United are expected to land Sancho at the Theatre of Dreams, the Premier League side are expected to spend heft sums on transfer fees.
