According to the Sun, PSV Eindhoven are interested in signing Manchester United attacker Anthony Elanga in the ongoing transfer window.
The departures of Cody Gakpo and Noni Madueke to Liverpool and Chelsea, respectively, have considerably hampered the Dutch team’s attacking unit this month. Manager Ruud van Nisterooy has asked the board to add more players, and it is said that Elanga is one of the players most wanted by the club.
However, PSV intends to test United’s resolve before the transfer deadline the following week. United is reportedly determined to keep Elanga for at least the season. Wout Weghorst is the only player United has brought in on a temporary basis so far this month, and they are reportedly looking at bringing in another forward.
The Red Devils are not close to signing anyone at this time. Elanga is a good option for manager Erik ten Hag to utilise from the bench; therefore, it makes little sense to lose him.
Elanga, who is valued at £22 million, has not been a regular under the Dutchman, in contrast to interim manager Ralf Rangnick last year, but he still has a lot of potential. The Swedish player is likely to remain at Old Trafford given United’s busy schedule in the upcoming months.
Despite numerous loan offers, United also appear poised to keep Facundo Pellistri. However, Brandon Williams could be loaned out to another club before the transfer window shuts.
