Manchester United FC have been in the lookout of a centre-forward from the beginning of this summer transfer window. The Red Devils have been linked to several strikers like Josh King, Luka Jovic and Edinson Cavani but have signed only Van de Beek this summer. It is now being reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano that Edinson Cavani will sign a contract with Manchester United.
It was earlier reported that Manchester United were linked to the likes of Edinson Cavani, who is a free agent this summer. But a deal couldn’t be done with Cavani, as his wages and agent fees were a problem for United. Also, his age didn’t approve with Solskjaer’s plans as the striker is 33 years old and has had a poor injury record.
But it is now being reported that Cavani and Manchester United have agreed on terms. The contract is very likely to be a two-year contract with a wage of about £200,000 per week, as a Red Devil. This might be a good deal for United, but Cavani needs to prove it on the pitch.
Man United are closing on Edinson Cavani deal! Agreement reached on personal terms until 2022.
Last details to be sorted about agents fee [huge amount – €10m asked] then the deal will be done.#MUFC see Cavani as “great opportunity”.
Here we go expected soon. NO Luka Jovic 🔴 https://t.co/JCI08Gw1em

This is surely a panic buy from Manchester United as Edinson Cavani doesn’t tick on any of the boxes Ole needed as his striker. The Red Devils have been woeful this summer and need to sign Jadon Sancho at least, to have any chance of competing.
