As reported by Manchester Evening News, Ajax manager and Manchester United’s long-term target Erik ten Hag has declined reports linking him with a move to Old Trafford this summer.
The Dutchman is thought to be one of the Red Devils’ top managerial targets this summer. According to reports, it was stated that he would be quite interested in hearing their offer.
Ten Hag, on the other hand, has kept a low profile when it comes to his future plans. He has said that he is focused on the present, just days after Ajax’s Champions League exit.
Ralf Rangnick has been in command of Manchester United on a temporary basis since December. While things began to work out well under the German, it has now taken a major turn in recent weeks.

Rangnick’s tactics have angered a number of first-team players. As a result, there’s a chance he’ll be fired. The hierarchy believes the German’s appointment was a big mistake.
Despite this, the team is currently on the lookout for a new head coach. According to recent rumors, Mauricio Pochettino and Ten Hag look to be the front-runners for the job. However, Erik ten Hag has now dismissed such rumors and is totally focused on the present.
Speaking after Ajax’s champions league exit, he said:
“I am just focused on this season. All energy is being put into the current squad. I don’t think about next season. I want to get the maximum out of the current season, we can still win 2 trophies.”
Pochettino has been with Paris Saint-Germain since January of last year, but his job is in serious trouble following the club’s Champions League round of 16 exits earlier this month.
The club has also been eliminated from the French Cup, after losing the French Super Cup against Lille at the start of the season. This may pave the door for him to be fired this summer.

Manchester United, who have long admired Pochettino, may pursue him, but the move may not sit well with many fans, who have been less than impressed by his recent managerial experience.
Erik ten Hag’s ability to groom and develop young players into potential world-class players has impressed many fans. If United had a long-term vision, he may be an ideal manager.
The Red Devils have expressed interest in Ten Hag, although he has not definitely refused it. Once he ends the current season with the Dutch champions on a positive note, he could formally begin discussions with the club.
